A recruitment firm is preparing to bed down for the Big PNE Sleep Out.

Nosheen Hussain of Octave Recruitment said volunteering at the Foxton’s Women’s Centre in New Hall Lane had inspired her to get involved.

She and her colleague Trish Matharu are signed up to take part in the sleep out at Deepdale in March next year.

Nosheen said: “I’ve been volunteering at the Women’s Centre for a little while now, and getting to know the women there has been both eye-opening and inspiring. When the Sleep Out was discussed at the centre, I felt compelled to do my bit.

“As a female-led recruitment agency, we’re passionate about supporting women and raising awareness of the challenges they face, especially around homelessness. I’ve also personally benefited from a similar service in the past, so this cause holds a very personal meaning for me. Trish, my colleague, was just as keen to get involved, and we’re proud to be doing this together.”

The Sleep Out, in aid of preventing female homelessness, aims to raise £100,000 towards the cause to help the Foxton and Preston North End’s Community and Education Trust.

Nosheen said: “We’d love to see more community-led initiatives that support women experiencing homelessness, especially those that offer long-term solutions like safe housing, mental health support, and employment opportunities. It would also be great to see more local businesses getting involved in events like this, helping to raise awareness and drive change.”

The Octave team can be backed via their dedicated Justgiving page towards the sleep out.
