The Mad Giant is now open in Preston city centre.
The food hall has launched with three food traders and one spot still to be confirmed. Northern Lights Group, who are behind the venture, operate the bar.
Originally due to open in late April, The Mad Giant was put back to a summer opening. It had then been scheduled to open last Friday (26 September), only for another last minute delay to occur.

Ed and I went along to a preview night yesterday (Wednesday 1 October) ahead of the grand opening today. You can find out more and take a look at some of the food we got to try below.

Crust and Co, from Garstang, had previously been operating from a converted horse box for pop-up events and private functions.

We chatted to owner Jess, who said: “The run up to opening has been busy but it’s been really exciting.
“My partner John and I are used to being in a tiny kitchen so it’s different being in a huge space like this, along with Roberto our pizza chef from Italy as well. We’ve been learning how to work the new oven – it can do about eight pizzas in the top and eight in the bottom, our old oven did one at a time!
“We use all the best fresh ingredients and the pizzas are amazing, proper Neapolitan, so hopefully people come and give us a try.”

Different Gravy, who are from Manchester, are offering up various gravies in which to dunk sandwiches, spuds and extras.

Eat Like A Greek, from Hertfordshire, have expanded to Preston with their gyros, salad bowls, loaded fries and sides.

The Mad Giant joins wagamama, COSMO, ASK Italian, Taco Bell, and Argento Lounge in the line-up of eateries at Animate.
