National Police Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, is scheduled to appear before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee on Thursday morning. The committee is investigating allegations made in July by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

The committee was established to probe Mkhwanazi’s wide-ranging allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption, and political interference in the criminal justice system.

The committee has had two days of 15-hour marathon meetings with its first witness, Mkhwanazi.

Following the pattern of the past two days, the evidence leader, Advocate Norman Arendse SC, will lead Masemola’s evidence today and on Friday. MPs will get an opportunity to question Masemola.
