A section of Plungington Road has been closed off by emergency services.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are understood to be at the scene of a fire on the stretch between Ripon Street and Eldon Street.
Lancashire Police, the North West Ambulance Service and Cadent gas services are also in attendance.

Fire crews were spotted shortly before 6pm on Sunday (18 October).

Diversions are in place with police directing traffic to use alternative local routes via Brook Street and Garstang Road.
