Blyth Town Council is pleased to confirm the return of the much-loved Blyth Christmas Tree Lights Switch-On, set to take place on Saturday 22 November 2025 in Blyth Marketplace.
This year’s celebration will offer a full day of festive entertainment, family activities and community cheer, proudly sponsored by Hays Travel, with market stalls hosted by Wavelength Markets.
The Christmas Lights Switch-On forms part of Blyth Celebrates, an inspiring programme of creativity and community that will run through to March 2026. The festivities will begin at 10am, with stage performances from 11am and the official lighting of the Christmas Tree at 6:30pm.
Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a packed programme of live entertainment featuring local talent and community groups, including Phoenix Panto, Shanty Singers, Kewen School of Music, Linsay School of Dance, Young Phoenix, Ashington and District Male Voice Choir, William Robinson, Community Voices and a special performance from Good Evening Mr Bublé before the lights are switched on.
Families will be thrilled to visit the Arriva Santa Bus, where children can enjoy crafts and meet Santa himself. Mrs Claus and her elf helpers will also be in Blyth Library from 9:30am until 12pm, hosting festive storytelling, crafts and letter-writing sessions to Santa.
Blyth Marketplace will be transformed into a festive wonderland with free funfair rides, a giant snow globe, delicious food stalls and a selection of quality market stalls provided by Wavelength Markets, offering gifts, treats and festive favourites.
