Firefighters rush to moped fire on doorstep of Preston Fire Station

A smoking moped was dealt with by fire crews – on their doorstep.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent a crew just yards from the front door of the Blackpool Road fire station.

Pictures sent to Blog Preston showed the vehicle – understood to be an Uber delivery bike – parked up outside Preston Fire Station.

The fire service said crews were on the scene for around half-an-hour as the fire was put out and the vehicle made safe.

The incident took place shortly before 10am on Friday (14 November).
