The Ferret is set to host a homecoming gig from Preston band Mobius Loop.

The band, who have spent the last few years touring on the summer festival circuit, have booked a 16-date nationwide tour this autumn.

Taking in locations such as London, Glasgow, and York, the family folk band have made sure to visit Preston so their loyal band of hometown fans don’t miss out.

Mobius Loop are made up of singer-songwriting duo Alexander and Rose Orion with percussionist Sean O’Hara. The band formed in 2008 and quickly won a following through their signature foot-stomping activist-inspired folk anthems.

Preston fans can expect the full Loop live experience – ecstatic dancing, majestic melodies, epic beats and vibrant voices all woven together in a call for a peaceful world.

Songwriter Alexander Orion said: “Back in 2008, we were down and out with no money, sleeping on couches, and scraping by busking in the town centre, even through the winters.

“We even started hosting our very own ‘Loopy Open Mic’ at The Ferret, known as The Mad Ferret back then. This is where I met our future co-lead singer and the mother of my children, Rose Orion, when she signed up to perform her beautiful songs.

“Most of our early repertoire was written and rehearsed in basements and bohemian hangouts around Preston city centre. We would finish a song and then run to the nearest open mic to try it out – what an amazing time that was.”

Alexander added: “We have worked very hard to find our audience and we feel all our hard work is finally paying off. We are performing and touring the music we love to create and now we are producing and recording our own albums.”

The band come to Preston as part of their Peaceful World Tour on Saturday 15 November. Tickets are available from Skiddle
