The JJeffect CIC Family is launching its fourth annual Child in Need Christmas giveaway, aiming to bring joy to children facing illness, disability, and hardship across the community.

For the past three years, founders Byron Highton, Mikey Mcguiness and Lewis Jennis have donated over £20,000 worth of brand-new gaming consoles, toys, food and more to children with disabilities, illnesses, and families in need.

This year, the team will once again be dressing up in festive fancy dress to personally deliver gifts to nominated children on Christmas Day.

Byron Highton said: “There’s so many kids out there that don’t get a good Christmas and there’s so many hero kids that don’t get a mention of their achievements.

To boost donations, the team is hosting a free fancy dress Christmas party at Deepdale Labour Club on Saturday 13th December.

Attendees can enjoy a live gift draw, exciting games, and activities, with all funds raised going directly to the children they support.

However, the team is struggling to meet demand this year, Byron said: “We’ve struggled this year to be fair. We hope we can get more donations in, as by now we’re usually overflowing with toys and things, but this year it’s been so difficult with people struggling.”

Byron has also set up a gofundme to continue to raise money, he said: “You’ll see exactly where donations go because with some charities you don’t see where the donations go but people will see gifts going to all these children.

“We just want to say a massive thank you to those who have supported us, it’s not possible without people donating and as much as me and Mikey do the work, it’s irrelevant without the public stepping up together and helping.”
