Delays of more than half-an-hour are still being reported on the M61 after a police incident.
Lancashire Police were called to the stretch between Chorley and Horwich during Tuesday (11 November) evening.
It is understood police were responding to a concern for welfare call near to Junction 8 (Chorley) of the M61.

Traffic was held around 7.15pm in both directions on the motorway while emergency services attended.
The incident concluded safely around 7.45pm and both carriageways were reopened.
Traffic England is still reporting delays of around 30 minutes as of 8.15pm as traffic clears.
