Mae’r Dirprwy Brif Weinidog wedi dweud bod COP30 yn foment dyngedfennol ar gyfer cydweithredu rhyngwladol a chanlyniadau yn y byd go iawn yn ein hymateb i’r argyfwng newid hinsawdd.
Wrth i Gynhadledd Newid Hinsawdd y Cenhedloedd Unedig ddechrau ym Mrasil, mae’r Dirprwy Brif Weinidog sydd â chyfrifoldeb dros Newid Hinsawdd, Huw Irranca-Davies wedi dweud bod Cymru’n brawf y gall gwledydd bach arwain newid trawsffurfiol ar y llwyfan byd-eang:
“Ddeng mlynedd ers Cytundeb Paris, mae COP30 yn foment allweddol ac yn nodi’r dyddiad cau i wledydd gyflwyno eu cynlluniau gweithredu wedi’u diweddaru sy’n hanfodol i benderfynu a yw cyfyngu cynhesu byd-eang i 1.5⁰C yn parhau i fod yn gyraeddadwy.
“Nid yw’n ymwneud â thrafod targedau yn unig mwyach – mae hyn bellach yn ymwneud â chyflawni canlyniadau.
“Mae newid hinsawdd yn effeithio arnom ni i gyd, o lifogydd mewn cymunedau yng Nghymru i brisiau bwyd cynyddol a thonnau gwres estynedig. Dyna pam rydym yn parhau i fod yn gwbl ymrwymedig i’r frwydr fyd-eang yn ei erbyn ac yn cydnabod bod y gynhadledd hon yn cynrychioli rhywbeth mwy arwyddocaol na rhai blaenorol.
“Cymru oedd y wlad gyntaf yn y byd i ddeddfu ar gyfer cenedlaethau’r dyfodol – gan sefydlu egwyddor sylfaenol sy’n llywio popeth a wnawn, gan gynnwys gweithredu ar newid hinsawdd.
“Rydym yn wlad sy’n gweithredu gydag uniondeb, yn cyflawni ein gwerthoedd, ac yn deall ein cyfrifoldebau byd-eang.
“Mae’r rhan fwyaf o weithredu ar newid hinsawdd y byd yn digwydd trwy ymdrechion lleol a rhanbarthol, a dyna pam rydym yn cymryd camau uchelgeisiol gartref: yn lleihau allyriadau, diogelu ein hamgylchedd naturiol, ac adeiladu cymunedau sy’n gallu gwrthsefyll newid hinsawdd.
“Ond mae newid ystyrlon yn digwydd pan fyddwn yn sefyll gyda’n gilydd. Rydym yn gweld sut mae rhai yn troi eu cefnau ar eu hymrwymiadau i’r hinsawdd, sy’n gadael cymunedau yn llai diogel. Fyddwn ni byth yn defnyddio’r dull hwnnw. Trwy weithio ochr yn ochr â gwledydd, rhanbarthau a chymunedau brodorol eraill, rydym yn sefyll dros y blaned ac ar gyfer cenedlaethau’r dyfodol.
“Rydym yn falch o weithio’n agos gyda Llywodraeth y DU a’n partneriaid rhyngwladol – ac yn disgwyl cydweithredu parhaus o’r COP hwn.
“Yng Nghymru, byddwn yn parhau i droi uchelgeisiau o ran yr hinsawdd yn ganlyniadau ac yn barod i gefnogi canlyniadau ystyrlon o’r trafodaethau byd-eang.
“Nid cymryd rhan yn unig y mae gwledydd bach yn ei wneud wrth lunio ein dyfodol – rydyn ni’n ei arwain. Yng Nghymru, rydym yn gwybod pan fyddwch chi’n deddfu ar gyfer y dyfodol, yn gweithredu gydag uniondeb, ac yn gweithio mewn partneriaeth wirioneddol, gallwch gyflawni llawer mwy na’r disgwyl.”
