Ellie, the 25-year-old owner, who formerly owned Kake, has really enjoyed bringing this new aspect to Longridge so far.

Ellie said: “We had to collect a parcel one Sunday morning, and we thought we’d grab some breakfast and a coffee when we get to Longridge and there was nothing there.

“We thought that’s something that Longridge was missing, somewhere that’s cosy and friendly and has good food and good coffee, like you know what you’re getting.”

Since they opened on Saturday 25th October, people of Longridge have been flocking to try out what Binny and the Bean has to offer.

Ellie said: “It’s literally been non-stop since we opened, from 8am when we unlock that door to whenever we close. On our opening day we were meant to close at around 3pm and we were still serving at 4pm, there was still people sat in, having sandwiches and coffee.

“Sundays have been particularly busy. We started our running club last week and that takes place on the first and third Sunday of every month. I think there was over 40 runners on our last one.”

Ellie closed Kake for three weeks before it was transformed into Binny and the Bean, she said: “We were closed for three weeks and there was some nights that were all nighters, we didn’t go home until one or two in the morning because we were painting.

“It was a lot, we had seven people in at one point all doing different jobs and we had a friend that has re-done a lot of it but we have done a lot ourselves.”

Offering a wide variety of food and drinks, Binny and the Bean focuses heavily on freshness, all their pastries and bread are baked fresh every morning.

Ultimately, Ellie’s vision is simple: “We’re kid friendly and dog friendly – we just want it to be somewhere where everyone feels welcome and there’s something for everyone.”
