Later opening is coming to Preston’s Market Hall in the run up to Christmas.
Preston’s Market Hall is to run until 7pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The extended opening is matching the period the ice rink is being put in place on the Lancaster Road end under the outdoor market.

The later opening is beginning this Saturday (22 November) when the city’s Christmas lights are switched on.
The traders are opening later through until Saturday 3 January.
Preston On Ice is due to begin skating this weekend after the city’s outdoor market was temporarily relocated – with the council citing concerns over the volume of traffic movements by traders in the area.
The rink decision faced criticism from the traders when they uncovered the plan for the space previously used to trade from was to be a temporary event space. The city council has since waived the outdoor traders rent for the period of the ice rink operating and is also looking at putting them back in their usual place from January.
It is not known if the city’s Box Market traders or outdoor traders will run for later periods during the run up to Christmas alongside the Market Hall.
Box Market traders this week demanded a rents reduction due to what they described as the ‘omnishambles’ of the outdoor market move.
