Search for hit-run driver after couple seriously injured crossing the road

Police are searching for a hit-run driver after a couple was mowed down while crossing the road in Melbourne's outer west last month.

A man and a woman were crossing Watton Street near the intersection of Duncans Road in Werribee about 9pm on October 28 when a blue sedan travelling north-east struck them, police say.

The car did not stop at the scene of the collision.

Police are looking for the driver of a blue sedan after two people were hit while crossing the road in Werribee last month.

A passerby rushed to the pair's aid after seeing two injured people on the road.

A 33-year-old Point Cook man and a 31-year-old Wyndham Vale woman were rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have released CCTV vision of a car travelling near the scene of the crash at the time in the hopes the public can help them identify the driver.
