Crime expert Mike Bolhuis says thorough investigations surrounding the shooting incident involving businessman Brown Mogotsi should be prioritised.
This as police are investigating a case of attempted murder after the car which businessman Mogotsi was travelling in was shot at in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni Monday night.
Mogotsi has been under the spotlight in recent weeks for his alleged association with top police officials and his interference within the criminal justice system.
Police say they are still waiting on Mogotsi to give a formal statement about the incident, however they will continue with investigation even if he fails to.
Bolhuis says the incident is concerning.
“The Madlanga Commission has made Brown Mogotsi a person of interest and famous. His relationship with extreme businessmen and high-ranking police officials, the present investigations regarding organised crime has put him in a spot where many people would want him to disappear or be dead. However, we have seen in the past that extreme criminals would stage that they are a target or hits on them.”
