The nation’s favourite pals Wallace and Gromit make a humorous debut in luxury and lifestyle brand Barbour’s Christmas advert.

Teaming up with Aardman for a third consecutive year, critics say its ‘Gift-o-matic’ campaign may just be the best festive video of 2025.

The classic Wallace invention inspired by creator Nick Park’s British charm is channelled in the film through iconic stop-motion animation techniques transporting the best friends in their cosy home wrapping gifts.

The Gift-o-matic is a Winterberry tartan-wrapped robot designed to make Christmas gift giving effortless.

Within seconds the machine seamlessly gifts, wraps, unwraps and even pulls a celebratory cracker.

In true Wallace and Gromit fashion, both characters surprise each other with the same thoughtful present, a Barbour tartan scarf.

But when Wallace’s festive invention goes wrong, the Gift-o-matic ends up unwrapping him instead of the gift, leaving his new scarf as his only cover.

Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Gromit, said: “Wallace and Gromit have always embodied warmth, eccentricity, and quintessential British charm, which makes them a wonderful fit for Barbour’s Christmas storytelling.

“The Gift-o-matic is a classic Wallace invention – brilliant but with a few hiccups – and we’re delighted to share this playful, festive tale with audiences this year, in hope that the love, craft, warmth and humour bring big smiles this Christmas.”

Accompanying this year’s advert, Barbour has created a limited-edition run of Re-loved Wallace & Gromit inspired wax jackets, with all proceeds going to Oxfam.

A spokesperson for Aardman said: “As a follow on from Barbour’s Re-loved partnership with Glastonbury and Oxfam, this year’s Re-loved jackets will be totally unique, repaired with tartan patches and incorporate inspiration from Wallace & Gromit, making them truly collectable items.

“A selection of the jackets will be sold in different Oxfam stores, with the remaining being sold at an online auction and all of the money raised from the jackets sold going to help Oxfam’s lifesaving work.”
