Pub giant Wetherspoons has confirmed they are in talks with a potential new owner for the Grey Friar pub.
Back in July it was confirmed to Blog Preston they were planning to leave the Ringway-based pub after three decades of pulling pints.
It has remained open and trading since being placed on the market.

A spokesperson for Wetherspoons said: “Wethesrpoon is in talks with prospective new owner, but not signed or sealed and it continues to trade as a Wetherspoon pub.”
Meanwhile the pub chain has also dismissed speculation they might be taking on a new site in the city.
Preston Pulse on Instagram along with comments on the Housing Horrors Facebook page reported a rumour Wetherspoons had expressed interest in the former Bistrot Pierre restaurant which closed in March in the former Fishergate Baptist Church.
The spokesperson for Wetherspoons told Blog Preston: “We have checked and sorry that’s not a site Wetherspoons are interested in.”
The Twelve Tellers, in Church Street, also a Wetherspoons, is unaffected by any closure of The Grey Friar.
