An ambitious 12-year-old has gained support from Spud Bros for his new homemade, all-natural hair product.

Xaveer, a young entrepreneur from Preston, started the all-natural hair product line after noticing the lack of natural ingredients and, therefore, irritation caused by other mainstream hair products.

Spending months experimenting with ingredients, Xaveer made his first matte hair clay in October 2024.

While Xaveer was in Cafune, a city centre Preston coffee shop, when he randomly met Jacob from Spud Bros, and together they planned progression on the hair brand, Una Serpiente.

Spending over an hour with Xaveer, Jacob encouraged him and helped create his brand identity, despite Xaveer’s local shops and barbers showing a lack of interest.

A few months later, Jacob invited Xaveer and his family to the tram to show them his products, suggest new ways to gain customers, and to be Una Serpiente’s first customer.

On the Spud Bros reel, Xaveer was guided to help promote the product and told to “ignore the noise” by the TikTok star. You can watch the reel here.

After his September meeting with Jacob, Xaveer has undergone a full cosmetic safety process to have his product UK-certified.

He now takes on orders and remains ambitious with his plan of two new products.

Bobby, Xaveer’s father, said: “Watching my 12-year-old son turn a simple idea into a real, certified product has been incredibly emotional.

“As a parent, you hope your child finds something they care about – but seeing Xaveer research ingredients, face rejection from adults, keep going, and then finally be taken under the wing of local heroes like the Spud Bros has been inspiring.”

“Una Serpiente isn’t just a hair product for him; it’s proof that, with a bit of support and kindness, a child’s idea can really develop.”

Xaveer’s matte clay is already available to purchase on TikTok, with an upcoming sea salt spray and texture spray set to come out on 15 December.

He is hoping to meet Jacob soon to gain more insight into creating a TikTok following, like the Spud Bros.
