A woman in her 30s was found dead at Preston Railway Station, police have confirmed.
The body of a woman was discovered at 1am on Saturday (29 November) with North West Ambulance Service called by a member of staff, who had been alerted by a member of the public.
A cordon was in place for much of Saturday while British Transport Police led investigation efforts and Lancashire Constabulary supported.
British Transport Police has now confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
However, they also advised that they are continuing to appeal for the member of public who first reported the body to get in touch.
They believe he travelled on a train bound for Blackpool North which left Preston Railway Station at 12.58am.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “If you were the man who informed the member of staff or otherwise have information that would help the investigation, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 41 of 29 November.”
