Work colleagues from companies throughout the Preston area plus members of the public turned out in their hundreds to catch Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity’s (LTHC’s) Give a Gift bus with none other than Santa at the wheel.
Members of the fundraising team made stops throughout the city as well as Leyland and Chorley to collect gifts.
These gifts will be added to the gifts provided by the £2,500 donated by Chorley’s D&G Builders and Joiners, the charity’s project sponsor for the second year.

All the gifts will be given to an estimated 1,200 men, women and children, who will be spending their Christmas Day in either the Royal Preston or Chorley and South Ribble Hospitals this year.
LTHC fundraiser Lucy Clark said: “Our thanks to everyone, who braved the awful weather and came out to hand over gifts. Seeing such generosity and the kindness of strangers is both great for lifting the spirits and also, quite humbling.”

The bus and driver used was loaned by Stagecoach free of charge to the LTHC team, which among others made stops at Primark, Bowker BMW and Bowker Porsche, Fairwoods Solicitors, Starbucks in Mariners Way, Ad Options, Smart Print & Labels and Chorley St Mary’s Catholic Primary and Nursery School.
The LTHC team are still looking for any last-minute gifts such as chocolates, toiletry sets, fluffy socks and mindful colouring books and pencils for adults.
