Chorley construction firm D&G Builders and Joiners are laying the foundations to ensure all patients in
the Royal Preston, Chorley and South Ribble Hospitals on Christmas Day have a gift to open.
For the second year in succession, the company is sponsoring Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity’s
(LTHC’s) Give a Gift project to buy and bag at least 1,200 presents to be handed out on the big day to
those on the hospitals’ wards.
D&G has donated £2,500 to the LTHC team to spend on gifts such as chocolates, toiletry sets, fluffy
socks and mindful colouring books and pencils for adults among other goodies.

Team member Lucy Clark said: “We are so grateful to D&G Builders and Joiners for such a fantastic donation towards our present shopping.
“Giving all patients a gift on Christmas morning really creates a lovely atmosphere on the wards that
lasts throughout the whole day.
“It makes a tremendous difference to not only how patients feel but also to how the staff feel. It makes it special.”
