Limpopo’s Transport department says the number of people who lost their lives in a light delivery truck crash outside Mokopane has risen to six. This after a sixth body was discovered in the river where a light delivery truck hit a bridge on the Marken-Mosesetjane road.
The deceased and the injured were passengers.
Department Spokesperson Tshifhiwa Dali says MEC Violet Mathye is saddened by the loss of lives.
“MEC for Transport and Community Safety Ms Susani Violet Mathye is saddened after another horror crash claimed lives. Six passengers lost their lives at the scene of the accident. Seven passengers were ferried to nearby hospitals after sustaining injuries. Preliminary reports indicate that a light delivery vehicle lost control and hit a bridge,” says Mathye.
