An early Sunday morning start is needed for those wanting to see the latest section of the new tram bridge put into place.
Preston City Council has confirmed engineers and the Eric Wright Group team will be swinging the third section of the new Old Tram Bridge over the river around 9am on Sunday (7 December).
Work had been expected to continue during Thursday and Friday but was delayed due to poor weather conditions – which have continued into Saturday with torrential downpours at times.

Wind speeds are forecast to be low for Sunday morning and it’s expected to dawn clear with a limited chance of rain until downpours begin again from 10am.
The £8.2million project saw the first section of the new bridge hoisted by the 75-metre crane last Sunday and crowds gathered on the riverbank at Avenham Park again on Tuesday for the second section to head over the river.
