The former Rimmers Music store in Leyland is set for a new use with golf simulators and a bar.
The much-loved store closed its doors for the final time this year having spent 34 years in the site, with Rimmers having previously been located further down the street for another decade.
Under plans which still need to be approved by South Ribble Borough Council’s licensing panel, the unit is to be reopened featuring a bar and state of the art golf simulators which will allow people to play virtually at more than 200 courses.
Named Fairway Fusion, the business is the brainchild of owner Jack Thornton and aims to become the “the go-to destination for indoor golf in Lancashire”. Its website states: “Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting, Fairway Fusion Golf Club provides top-tier facilities and a vibrant community that shares a passion for the sport. Our mission is to create an inclusive and dynamic golfing experience, combining tradition with innovation to make every round unforgettable.

“From championship courses and state-of-the-art practice areas to lively social events and family-friendly activities, we offer something for everyone. Join us at Fairway Fusion Golf Club and discover a place where precision meets passion, and every swing is a step toward excellence.”
As well as the golf facilities, the venue is expected to offer darts and pool to visitors and is described as being a family-friendly venue where the clubhouse area is secondary to the experiential offering rather than operating as a standalone bar.
A sub-committee meeting will take place on Monday, December 15 to determine whether the new premises should be granted an alcohol licence.
