A new three storey office block could be built at BAE Systems’ Samlesbury site if plans are approved.

Located in the eastern section of the site, the new offices would house up to 560 workers at the aerospace and defence giant.

In plans submitted to Ribble Valley Borough Council, it says the offices will be for staff that were temporarily displaced from the original modular office building, previously located on the proposed site, that was demolished in 2024.

There is also the intention to house staff currently located in various office buildings across the BAE Samlesbury site, as well as a ‘small number of staff that are currently home working who, pre-Covid, were permanently based at the BAE Samlesbury site’.

In its transport statement, BAE said the proposed development ‘is highly unlikely to have a material impact on the functioning of the BAE access gates or the local highway network’.
