Residents in part of Bamber Bridge were advised to stay indoors while police dealt with a serious incident.
Reports of a police helicopter, along with crime scene investigation and armed police, began at around 7.45pm on Monday night (29 December).
Police were seen around Collins Road and the area around The Crescent in Bamber Bridge where a cordon has been established.

Those living in the area told Blog Preston they had seen armed police and that they were being advised by officers to stay indoors.
