Search ongoing after man turns up at Bamber Bridge address with knife and robs victim

A search is ongoing after a man turned up at an address in Bamber Bridge with a knife and carried out a robbery.

Lancashire Constabulary were called at around 6.40pm on Monday evening (29 December) to reports that a man had turned up at an address on Collins Road with a knife and carried out a robbery.

Police said that the victim was known to the man and he took a phone and a bank card before leaving.

This triggered an extensive police search, which included an armed response and a helicopter, with residents in the area advised to stay indoors.

A cordon was also established at The Crescent in Bamber Bridge which was due to the discovery of items linked to the suspect.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning (30 December) and police said their investigation is ongoing.
