The bail application for Lehlohonolo Chauke, a prominent Limpopo musician popularly known as “Shebe Maburna”, is expected to conclude on Thursday at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court.

The witness, warrant officer Phaladi Makola will be re-examined.

The state is opposing bail.

Maburna is facing nine counts, including three counts of attempted murder, robbery, and illegal possession of firearms, as his name does not appear on the register of people owning firearms.

On Wednesday, the court heard that Maburna falsified a withdrawal statement in August 2015.

Warrant officer Makola testified that the withdrawal statement was made in the absence of the complainant in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court.

Makola also accused the defence lawyer Lot Ramusi of interfering with police investigations.

The state will re-examine Makola after the defence lawyer Ramusi cross-examined him.
