Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from Blackburn and Preston to the scene at Mellor as well as the urban search and rescue team from Chorley.

Crews cut free casualties from the vehicle and worked to make the scene safe. They were on the scene for around an hour.

No one has been arrested at this stage and Lancashire Police are continuing their investigation.

They are asking anyone with information and who has dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage which would help the investigation to contact police on 101 and quote log 159 of 25 December 2025.
