Three alleged suspects have been killed in a shootout with police at Mbazwana in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Police say they were wanted for murder and robbery cases in the Mtubatuba, Mbazwana and Emanguzi areas.
Provincial police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the suspects were wanted for a string of murder and robbery cases.
“The three suspects who were wanted for a string of murder and robbery cases, they were shot and and fatally wounded in a shootout. Two firearms and a toy gun were found in their position. Police are searching for two more suspects who escaped arrest. More details will be reported in due course.”
