The festive season can be a challenging time for those who have experienced loss.
Two local organisations are offering spaces for reflection and remembrance this December.
Martin’s The Funeral Directors has created a special Memory Tree at their Tulketh Brow funeral home in Ashton-on-Ribble.

The tree offers a peaceful space for the community to remember loved ones by writing a personal message and hanging it on the branches, and it will be available until Friday 19 December.
Martin Layton from Martin’s Funeral Directors said: “Christmas is a wonderful time of the year, but for those who have lost a loved one, it can be challenging and a very sad time. The tree offers a time to remember, time to reflect, and time to heal.”
In a separate event, Co-op Funeralcare and the Preston Cemetery and Crematorium team are hosting their annual Christmas Memorial Service to honour those who have passed away.
This is a formal, reflective service and it is being held at Preston Crematorium at 5.30pm on Tuesday (9 December). Complimentary refreshments will be available following the service.
Due to the size of the venue, numbers are limited, so please call the team on 01772794585 to confirm your attendance and secure your place.
