Woodlea Junior School has joined the Endeavour Learning Trust academy chain.
The school is the tenth to become part of the trust, joining fellow Leyland schools Wellfield Academy and Northbrook Primary Academy as well as other in South Ribble, West Lancashire and Southport.
Woodlea, which was rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in its last inspection, officially joined the trust at the start of December and school leaders say it will gain access to a wider range of expertise, as well as continued professional development for its staff.

David Clayton, CEO of the Endeavour Learning Trust, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Woodlea into our family of schools as we look to bring the Endeavour vision to another local school.
“We’re a trust who is proud of our local area, our positive impact, and our resources and expertise. Woodlea is already an excellent school, and I look forward to working with Jillian and all the staff there to help take it from strength to strength.”
Jillian Shorrocks, headteacher at Woodlea Junior School, added: “To join a family of schools like Endeavour, where we can share resources and expertise, and increase our impact for our pupils, is an important moment for Woodlea.
“This new chapter for our school will help us achieve our goals even faster as we work with our partners at Endeavour to ensure all our pupils flourish”.
