Car flips on M6 before crashing into embankment on hard shoulder

A driver is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries after overturning a car on the M6.

Emergency services were called to the M6 between junction 32 and 33 at 3.13pm on Wednesday (28 January).

They found that a car had overturned before colliding with the embankment on the hard shoulder of the motorway.

The M6 was stopped in both directions while emergency services dealt with the aftermath of the incident and the driver received treatment.

The southbound carriageway has since reopened but two lanes remain closed northbound.

As a result, there are continued delays on the northbound carriageway whereas the southbound carriageway is beginning to clear.

There are also delays on Garstang Road where drivers are seeking a diversion away from the congestion.
