A freshly ground coffee takeaway is opening in Leyland as a family business expands from Preston.
The owners Ashton-on-Ribble based Neighbourhood Coffee house, have announced a new location at Lancashire Business Park in Leyland from February.
Neighbourhood Coffee House, currently located in the Lane Ends area of Ashton-on-Ribble, is owned by couple Dave Crowther and Charlotte Buchanan.

Dave and Charlotte stumbled upon the site of the new café, near Charlotte’s nursery business, and made the decision to expand and take on The Gatehouse kiosk building and convert it to a coffee takeaway.
Charlotte told Blog Preston: “At the bottom of the business park, there’s an empty building now that used to be a kiosk, and then before that it was a takeaway for food and coffee.
“So, we’d been there a few times on the way to the nursery, and then we knew there was no one in there. So, we decided to go for it.”
After announcing their new opening, the couple took to social media for opinions from customers located at the business park.

Charlotte said: “It’s more of a quick turnover, takeaway sort of concept for us. The feedback was that it’d be good if they could order in advance.
“So, we’re going to try and set that up, some sort of system where they can order in advance. Because they’re on the break, aren’t they? That is our main focus, creating something for the community.”
The couple moved to Preston with their three young children before opening the Ashton café in August last year, keeping families and the community in mind.
Charlotte described the couple’s aim for the business: “We want to be a high-quality food and drink coffee house. But it is family-friendly, so we’ve got a small play space.
“The idea with that is the kids are welcome to bring everything to the table. They don’t have to worry about them running around and being loud and not sitting down.”
Their dog-friendly coffee shop, located at 642 Blackpool Road, contains a variety of seating, a kids’ play area, and a fresh, all-day brunch menu featuring pastries, sandwiches and acai bowls.
To maintain their community values, the café hosts a weekly running club, bringing a group of locals together to complete a 5k run every Saturday.
Dave and Charlotte have big dreams for the future of their company, hoping that the February opening of their new café will be a convenient and healthy alternative for locals.
