An elderly couple is in a critical condition following a single light motor vehicle crash on the N3 near the Lynnfield off-ramp west of Durban.
It is alleged their vehicle veered off the road and overturned multiple times before coming to a rest in the adjacent field.
KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service spokesperson Craig Botha, “The female occupant was found mechanically entrapped within the mangled wreckage of the vehicle. In a race against time, emergency services utilized specialized equipment to extricate the patient, while advanced life support paramedics worked simultaneously to stabilize her. The couple, who were reportedly in the process of assisting friends with a relocation to Durban at the time of the crash, received intensive medical intervention on-site. Once stabilized, both patients were rushed to a nearby specialist facility for urgent further care.”
