An enormous steel Advent calendar delivered 42,000 gifts to children who might be at risk of going without over Christmas.

The advent calendar in Chorley was unveiled in December by Cuboid Self Storage, bringing cheer to over 14,000 children across Lancashire.

Made possible by charities including Inspire Youth Zone in Chorley, Endevour Project in Bolton, and Mill Bank Wellbeing in Preston, along with 300 volunteers, over 40,000 gifts were donated to families in need.

The calendar was made up of 24 steel self storage containers with numbered doors and festive lights and the initiative was in partnership with Cash for Kids.

Laura Charlton, Regional Charity Manager at Mission Christmas said: “Cash for Kids Lancashire has received so much support from the incredible Cuboid team who not only provided Mission Christmas with a donation, but also provided a Mission Christmas HQ and endless support to make this festive campaign possible.

“It has been brilliant to see the impressive Advent Calendar come together, making it possible to receive more gifts, which resulted in helping to create a special Christmas for even more children than last year.”
