A charity ambassador is set to complete the “Trisomy 21 Triathlon for World Down Syndrome Day.
Becky Rich, 35, from Fulwood, is an ambassador for Accrington-based inclusive dance charity DanceSyndrome.
With Down syndrome herself, Becky has been involved in DanceSyndrome’s work for 12 years and wishes to promote funds and awareness.

Becky said: “I am proud to have Down’s Syndrome. Trisomy 21 is one of the types of Down’s Syndrome, and that means that there is a third copy of chromosome 21.
“Because of this, I thought a triathlon was a good way to raise money for my charity. Every day I will throw 210 boxing punches, walk or dance at least 2,100 steps, and cycle for 21 minutes on my exercise bike.
“I am going to do three 21-day challenges to make 63 days in total, and I will be finishing on the 21st March 2026 which is World Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day.”
