Senegal advances to AFCON quarterfinals

Senegal has become the first team to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Teranga Lions beat Sudan three-one in Tanger.

Pape Gueye scored two goals with Ibrahim Mbaye also on target for the West Africans while Aamir Abdallah scored a consolation goal for Sudan.

 

Mali is also through to the next round of the tournament.
