United Utilities investigating widespread water issues in Bamber Bridge and Walton-le-Dale

A significant water outage is affecting people living in Bamber Bridge and Walton-le-Dale.

Residents across Bamber Bridge and part of Walton-le-Dale reported water supply issues in their homes on Saturday morning (10 January).

United Utilities has been made aware of the issue and said they are working ‘as quickly as they can’ to resolve it.

A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “We’re investigating a problem in your area, which may mean you have no water or low water pressure. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, we’re working as quickly as we can to get your taps flowing again.

“You may also experience some discolouration to your water, this happens when historical sediments that have built up over time in the water pipe have been disturbed causing discolouration to your water. 

“We know it doesn’t look nice but don’t worry, it’s unlikely to be harmful and will settle down again with time. You can help by letting your cold water tap run at a slight trickle until your water runs clear again.”
