Bristol Light Festival returns with ten large-scale installations and immersive illuminated artworks across the city centre. From Level 7 of the Cabot Circus car park turned into a shimmering spectacle of over 765 mirrored acrylic discs to a 10 metre tall, inflatable cat over at Cascade Steps, there’s so much wonder to discover across Bristol this weekend.

While the Year of the Fire Horse has officially started (Tuesday, February 17, 2026), the Lunar New Year celebrations continue in Bristol. Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is galloping in with lion dances, martial arts and dance performances this weekend. There’ll also be craft activities, roving pandas, a Horse Detective Trail and a Chinese-inspired menu in the café.

In honour of the late, great Martin Parr, his iconic series, The Last Resort, is now on display at the Martin Parr Foundation gallery. Shot around the English seaside town of New Brighton, between 1983 and 1985, the pioneering exhibition of British colour documentary photography established Martin as one of the country’s most influential photographers.
