On Friday 20 March at St James’ Park, the North East business community will come together for something extraordinary.
More than 760 guests. Over 60 North East businesses. One shared purpose.
Business Beats Cancer North East is bringing together leaders from across the region for what is set to be the largest Business Beats Cancer dinner in the UK to date. This landmark event will showcase the strength, generosity and ambition of the North East.
This is not just another black tie dinner. It is a powerful reflection of who we are as a region.
Every year, around 17,400 people in North East England are diagnosed with cancer. That is 47 families, friends and colleagues receiving life changing news every single day. Cancer touches every community across our towns, cities and villages. It affects our parents, our children, our friends and our colleagues.
What makes Business Beats Cancer North East unique is that every pound raised at this dinner is restricted to funding Cancer Research UK’s research right here in North East England.
That means the money raised on 20 March will directly support world leading research taking place in our region, including work at the Cancer Research UK Newcastle Centre and one of the charity’s national drug discovery sites. Ground-breaking science is happening here, improving how cancer is prevented, diagnosed and treated.
When North East businesses step forward, the impact stays in the North East.
The funds raised will help accelerate research into better treatments for children with brain tumours, unlock more effective immunotherapies, and tackle cancers that affect thousands of families across our communities. This is about investing in research that could benefit the very people we care about most.
Last year’s dinner raised over £80,000. This year, with 760 guests expected and more than 60 businesses represented, the ambition is even greater.
On 20 March, senior leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals from across North East England will gather for an evening of exceptional networking, live entertainment and fundraising. It will be one of the most significant business events in the regional calendar.
But the real impact will be measured not just in the room, but in laboratories, clinics and ultimately in the lives of local people.
There are now only a limited number of tables remaining.
For organisations looking to host clients, reward teams or align with a cause that resonates deeply with employees and customers alike, this is an opportunity to be part of something both prestigious and profoundly purposeful.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses that want to demonstrate leadership across the region, gain visibility in front of 760 senior professionals, and stand behind a movement committed to beating cancer for North East families.
The North East is known for its resilience, pride and community spirit. Business Beats Cancer North East embodies all three.
On 20 March, the region’s business community will unite not just to network, but to fund research that stays here and could change lives here.

Together, we are beating cancer for North East England.
