The African Union (AU) Commission chairperson, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, says the continental body will continue to support Madagascar.
He has received a briefing from his special envoy in Madagascar, Mohamed Idris Farah, in Addis Ababa.
The island nation plunged into a political crisis after it had a coup last year.
Ambassador Idris Farah says there has been progress on the situation in Madagascar.
He told the AU boss Mahmoud Ali Youssouf that authorities in Antananarivo are committed to push for an inclusive, credible political dialogue and reported encouraging economic indicators in the island nation.
Youssouf has reaffirmed the continental body’s principled approach to political transition and respect for Madagascan led solution.
