Queues stretched across the city’s main square as hundreds of people came out to see the new SpudBros base which is made from two shipping containers.
Preston mural artist Shawn Sharpe has sprayed city-themed murals on three sides of the new tram.

The SpudBros giveaway day continues throughout Saturday (21 February) and is also raising money for Jamie Marvill who has stage-four cancer with those queueing being asked to ‘pay what they can’ with all funds going towards Jamie’s cancer treatment and charity fundraising.

The Nelson family won planning permission for the new tram, which can be moved when major events take place in the city, last summer.
The SpudBros have released videos saying farewell to their old tram and also giving a glimpse inside the new state-of-the-art mobile spud van they now call home.
