Investigation underway after man in his 80s dies after Ribbleton crash

A man has died after being hit by a car in Ribbleton earlier this month.

Emergency services were called to Ribbleton Avenue at 9.45pm on Saturday, 7 February after reports that a silver Toyota Prius had collided with a pedestrian.

The driver of the Prius stopped at the scene.

The pedestrian was a man in his 80s and he was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police have now confirmed that the man has died.

A spokesperson for police said: “Our thoughts are with his family and friends and they are being supported by specially trained officers.”
