A Preston-based eating disorder treatment provider is hosting a free online webinar for parents, carers and members of the local community.

ABBI Clinic’s webinar takes place during Eating Disorder Awareness Week, and is aimed at improving understanding, early recognition and access to support for eating disorders.

The webinar is designed to provide practical, compassionate guidance for families who may be concerned about changes in a young person’s eating, behaviour or wellbeing, or who simply want to be better informed.

Eating disorders can affect people of all ages and backgrounds, yet they are often misunderstood and missed in their early stages. Early intervention is known to significantly improve outcomes, but many families report feeling unsure about what is ‘normal’ and when to seek help.

The ABBI Clinic webinar will cover:

  • Early signs and symptoms of eating disorders
  • Common myths that can delay help-seeking
  • How to start supportive conversations at home
  • An overview of treatment and support pathways
  • A live Q&A with specialist clinicians

The session will be led by clinicians from ABBI Clinic, which offers bespoke, clinically-led day care and intensive outpatient treatment. The clinic’s early intervention approach is designed to fit around real life, providing clarity, reassurance and a supported path back to health and control.
