A Queensland police officer has been taken to hospital after he was struck by a car while responding to reports of an armed person, who remains on the run.
The officer was responding to reports of a disturbance at a Gold Coast park involving a weapon about 7.40am today.
When he arrived at Glennon Park in Nerang, the driver of a white Hyundai fled the scene, striking the 38-year-old constable with the vehicle on the way and knocking him to the ground unconscious.

CCTV captured the car escaping and the injured officer's colleagues and paramedics raced to the scene with lights and sirens.
The officer was taken to hospital in an ambulance but thankfully he only suffered minor injuries, including some grazing to his face and knees.
He has worked in Queensland for less than a year but had served in another state for seven years.
The incident has prompted calls from the Queensland Police Union for minimum sentencing for anyone who injures a police officer.
"Today, we could have very easily been talking about the death of a police officer, or a police officer that would have career-ending injuries," QPU president Shane Prior said.
"Grubs like this need to see the inside of a jail cell."
The officer is now recovering at home after being discharged from hospital and is expected to be back at work in the coming days.
