Residents in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, have expressed excitement as they witnessed various units of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) doing rehearsals.
The defence force is readying itself for the Armed Forces Day on Saturday.
Several major roads, including the busy R524 – Punda Maria road, have been temporarily closed to allow for the safe movement of military vehicles and personnel during the preparations.
The army units such as the navy, air force and the military health service have showcased their equipment and operational capabilities to the public.
Community members says they’re happy about the state of the defence force.
“We are vary happy today to see our soldiers here, we are very proud of them and I can confirm to you that South Africa have got a strong military, so we are very grateful, we thank the government for bringing them to our province, Limpopo.”
