Stagecoach’s Santa Paws Dog Bus raised £3,500 for the RSPCA Felledge Animal and Equine Centre, following a successful festive tour across the North East, which included two December dates in Sunderland.
Thanks to the generosity of customers, local communities and four-legged visitors, collection buckets at the popular events raised the impressive total, which will help the charity to help animals in need.
The free events, held in Sunderland, South Shields and Seaham, welcomed dogs and their owners on board a specially decorated festive bus to meet Santa Paws, receive treats and gifts, and help support a local animal welfare charity.
Steve Walker, Managing Director at Stagecoach North East, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted with the total raised and hugely grateful to everyone who came along, donated and helped make Santa Paws such a success.
“This event was about spreading festive cheer, bringing communities together and supporting a cause that means a lot to many of our customers and colleagues. Rounding the total up to £3,500 was a simple way for us to say thank you and give a little bit extra back.”
The funds raised will support the vital work of the RSPCA Felledge Animal and Equine Centre, helping care for animals in need across the region.
Stagecoach would like to thank everyone who attended, donated and shared the festive spirit, including Santa Paws himself, for helping to make this year’s events another huge success.
