Bristol’s very own theme park is returning to The Downs for one month only this spring – offering 4 hours of unlimited rides

Looking for all the thrills and spills of a theme park? Your choices in and around Bristol are limited. Nothing comes close to the head-spinning rides of Thorpe Park or Alton Towers. That is, until whenever Funderworld decides to roll into town. Bringing rollercoasters, fairground rides and inflatable attractions to the South West.

Landing on Durdham Downs just in time for Easter (from Thursday,  April 2 to Monday, May 4, 2026), ‘Britain’s best mobile theme park’ boasts four hours of unlimited rides—with everything from classics like the Waltzer and Sizzler to the Funderworld’s fan favourite Freefall or the brand-new, 23m tall Equinox.

In total, there are 29 unique rides to encounter, including a Funhouse, Ghost Train, Big Wheel and Dogems. My favourite is the Red Devil, with frisbee-style swinging that loops in random trajectories. This doesn’t include the game stalls (like Hoopla) or the on-site bar and food stalls selling coffee, cookies, Chinese cuisine, and more.

How much are tickets?

There are three different price points: Ultimate Thrills, Adventurer and Tiny Thrills (no, the naming convention doesn’t make any sense, does it?). For everything, it will cost you £25 on the day, or £22.50 if booked online in advance. If you’re only taking little ones, access to only little rides may better suit you from £12.50 on the day.

When is it open?

While Funderworld is running from Thursday, April 2 to Monday, May 4, it will be closed on the following days: April 20 to 22 and 27 to 29. On days it is open, it will run from 1 to 9pm, except on April 23, 24 and 30 and May 1, when the theme park will open from 5pm to 9pm.
