Services from Preston Railway Station were either delayed or cancelled due to damage to overhead wires.

Any trains travelling the line between Preston and Bolton or Preston and Wigan North Western were disrupted on Wednesday morning (18 March) due to the damage.

Network Rail staff were called to the site and expected to rectify the issue but added that due to the displacement of train and crews disruption could continue until around midday.
