Man charged after disturbance and threats made to staff at Greyfriars pub

A man has been charged after an incident at the Greyfriars pub in Preston.

Police were called to the Greyfriars Wetherspoons pub on Friargate in Preston at around 10pm on Saturday (28 February) after a report of a disturbance and threats made to staff by a customer.

The man, in his 40s, was arrested.

Samuel McConkie, 40, of Vaughan Grove, Oldham, has been charged with affray, using threatening words and behaviour likely to cause harassment/harm/distress, and three offences of common assault.

He was due to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning (2 March).
